Recent Advances in Transistor-Based Bionic Perceptual Devices for Artificial Sensory Systems

The sensory nervous system serves as the window for human beings to perceive outside world by converting external stimuli into distinctive spiking trains. neurons in this can process multimodal signals with extremely low power consumption. Therefore, new-concept devices inspired neuron are promising candidates address energy issues nowadays’ robotics, prosthetics and even computing systems. Recent years have witnessed rapid development transistor-based bionic perceptual devices, it is urgent summarize research of these devices. In review, latest progress artificial sense reviewed summarized five aspects, i.e., vision, touch, hearing, smell, pain. Finally, opportunities challenges related areas also discussed. It would bright prospects fields intelligence, prosthetics, brain-computer interface, medical testing.
